Latest Comings and Goings...
Hello everyone! We have been
very busy this past month with lots of new stories and
updates. Two of our senior retired horses have been
adopted to a wonderful family. Allen and his wife
offered their home to take in horses that were no longer
ride able. He did
this so that we would have space
to take in more rescue animals as he had room at his
beautiful ranch for two horses. Chevo, a horse that was
rescued from severe abuse that caused him to be lame and
Savanah who is an arthritic 20 year old ex-show jumper,
now reside in true horse heaven with green pastures and
lots of tender loving care forever. Thanks to Allen, we
were able to take in three new critters: Apple-Jacks,
Blue Jeans and Clarabelle. Apple-Jacks is a 10 month
old colt who was abandoned and arrived about two weeks
ago. He has already been adopted. Blue Jeans, a very
vocal donkey arrived about the same time. We were told
that he was tied to a tree for six months and that he
escaped through barbed wire to get to the neighbor's
mares. We were also told that he was going to be put
down if we could not take him. He is about fifteen years
old, and a stallion. Hopefully he is not too old to be
fixed so we can place him in a new permanent home.
Clarabelle, another new arrival is a 10 month old cow
that I would spend time with while picking up hay every
week. I would play with her while they loaded the hay on
my truck. She is like a dog, playful and very loving.
Well ,during my last visit I was told that she was sold
to be slaughtered, and I just couldn't bare it. Thanks
to everyone that donated, we saved Clarabelle. She will
be part of our education program and has a role in our
June 27th fundraiser "Grease "starring as Sandy in full
custom costume of course. Pictures and story's about our
new arrivals will be added to the web site as soon as
possible.
Grease Fundraiser
June 27th Fundraiser is around the corner. Volunteers
have gone all out this year making costumes for all the
animals, You have to see it to believe it. the animals
will portray your favorite characters form the popular
classic movie Grease. Dinner, Dancing, Hula hoop, Bubble
gum and much much more to be expected. Come in costume
or come as your self Just come and enjoy the show. Be
sure to get your tickets early as it helps us save on
the event costs by scheduling and committing to needed
items well in advance. This helps us get the most out
of your donations. Tickets are $50 per plate. Kids 12
and under are $25 and 6 and under are free. Tickets are
available now online via Paypal or by check. (click
here to purchase tickets) You can now (download)
and print an invitation flyer. If you know someone who
may be interested, feel free to give these out. Tickets
can be purchased on our web site or they can be
purchased the day of they event; just let us know you
are coming so we can prepare for you. Just a reminder we
are usually about 10 to 20 degrees cooler here in Anza,
directions to the ranch are on the web site. Early
bird tours start at 2:00 pm. Show time is 3:00 pm with
dinner, dancing and festivities from 4:00 until 8:00 pm.
Thank you again for supporting us. We have been able to
rescue these animals because of people like you that
want to make a difference in a special animals life.
